I either very own, or have owned: dogs, cats, ball pythons, hamsters, rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils, horses, turtles, water dragons, finches, cockatiels, adore birds, and so on.
What I like most about canines is that they are really open displaying their affection. I’ve had cats that gave kisses, but never as much as my dogs. You can take them on walks, bring them on car rides, I take mine out canoeing often. They are exciting to train, to cuddle with, to hike with. Out of all the pets I’ve had, a dog is the very best for an each day companion. I’d have to say my 2nd favored is my horse. He always greats me, has a humorous personality, and offers me a lot of joy…but its sort of hard to cuddle with a 1200lb animal.

Most of my pets weren’t chosen, they were offered. The neighbor down the street’s dog had puppies, a freind of my mom’s couldn’t take care of her bunny anymore. That type of point.
