Annamaet Extra is a high protein, high fat dog food that was formulated for active dogs. Annamaet uses only the highest quality ingredients. The protein and fat levels are appropriate for active pets. Annamaet also makes a corn and wheat free dog food called Encore, that you could consider if you are opposed to corn or wheat or if your dog has food allergies to these ingredients.

I recommend Nature’s Recipe(rice meal & venison} for most dogs because they digest it so much better, which means less gas.Especially great for dogs who have farts that run you out of the room,it really helps, and dogs love it also..

The same food that is good for a nine pound terrier: a high quality kibble. Read labels and concentrate on the first five ingredients. There should be no corn, wheat, soy, or by-products. The very first ingredient is a meat and the next four are vegetables and maybe grains or a second meat. Find a high quality commercial kibble and your dog should do fine.

because dog food is expensive it doesn’t mean its good food – because it comes from a pet shop or even your vet doesn’t mean it is good food
you are looking for something along these lines – high protein and low fiber – stay away from food that is made with ground yellow corn
if you buy a food that is too high energy and don’t exercise your dog enough they will get fat unless you control the portion size
Sams Club exceed lamb and rice or chicken and rice are excellent
Tractor Supply Diamond brand is also excellent

Q&A: Do you buy only the best dog food for your dog?
A lot of people obsess about only buying the best dog food. I often wonder what you feed your human kids? Do you fill them up with junk food or only seek the best food for them? What about smoking around your animals and your children? That is the worst kind of poison for your kids and for your pets. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how bad that is. Sometimes I think we have our priorities out of whack.

I feed my dogs table scraps from the healthy meals I make for my kids, like meatloaf and mashed potatoes…also regular dog food.

i personally dont own a dog right now but ,when i did i gave him medium food, eventually i had to givem away to a guy who gave him low quality(taste) food,so it was easy for him to make the transition, from good to bad(or vice versa) conclusion:give your dogs medium tasting food, nutritional but not the best

No I don’t buy the best dog food for my dog. That’s stupid. The brands of dog food that serve beef cutlets and gravy are appealing to the customer, not the dog. Dog food businesses figure you’ll want your dog to eat what you like to eat. I don’t have kids but if I did, I would give them a balance, not the best as in fillet Mignon, but vegetables and so on. And smoking is disgusting period. Ha, just doing it is dumb, it doesn’t matter who you are around.

I don’t have any children of my own…but if I am feeding my nieces and nephews, I try to give them the best food I can. My personal diet may not be the best…I know I drink way too much soda. However, I am able to choose what I eat. My dogs are not able to decide for themselves what they get for dinner, so it is my duty to make sure they get the best food. That is part of the responsibility of owning pets.

My vet gave me a large bag of pro plan puppy food for my puppy. I only feed people food that is preapproved by my vet and no I don’t smoke or allow anyone to smoke around my puppy. I treat my puppy BETTER than many people treat their children.

i feed my dog quality dog food, but because it is good for him. he is so small (3 lbs) and needs little food to eat. he gets scraps too, and what not, but what dog doesnt right
and i would never smoke around my dog…same thing with a baby, just careless!
For dogs, I think people like me watch for quality like we do because of what is allowed in commercial dog foods. They don’t have the same standards for what is in their food that the FDA does, but some companies have learned that people want to feed their dogs safe food that is healthy for them and will pay a bit more for that.
I agree that a kid if they are fed McDonalds or corndogs for every meal that they will be neglected just like a dog is when it is fed a diet of Ol’ Roy.
Maybe what you are overlooking is that probably the vast majority of people that care about what their dogs eat also care about what they eat and what their kids eat. Nothing wrong with that.
I think there should be a limit on how much is too much for dog food. The most expensive brand I buy for my dogs is Pedigree and they seem to like it.
Yes, my dogs only get the best food (home-made raw food), but so will my human children, when I have them, obviously not the raw food, but a good, balanced diet. My hubby smokes outside only, not around any pets. When I become pregnant, he has three months to quit entirely, but no, smoking is not the worst kind of poison, I’m pretty sure acid, pesticides, artificial hormones, rat poison, can be much worse… anyway, are you insinuating that we should not feed our pets well?
I don’t buy the best but the dog don’t seem to enjoy the cheaper brands.
Well my kids are 16 and 12 – the 16yo is pretty much her own decision maker when it comes to food – being a Jr. in high school she sets her own schedule for volunteering and being involved in Dance and Track. Both kids know what is healthy but they do enjoy the junk.
I guess I figure my city dogs can’t fend for themselves, so it’s up to me to get them the right food to keep them healthy and fit.
(Incidently my son is a purple belt and my daughter is an orange belt in karate).
I do not drink, smoke or do drugs. I figure I need to lead by example,so if I’m going to ask them not to do something I shouldn’t do it either.
Look up “the truth about pet food” or “what’s really in pet food.”
I don’t have kids, but i do my best to keep unhealthy foods out of my system. I rarely eat fast food and try to eat at home as often as possible.
If you ever want to know just how bad corn is, look up how it effects the amazing cow. PBS had a wonderful special on cows and about 10 – 15 minutes covered the horrid effect corn had on cows (who can healthyfully digest just about anything else.)
Since i can’t afford to feed my dogs raw i buy them the best that i can. I feel that is Wysong. They don’t cook their products unlike other companies. I’ve tried their human products too and swear by them.
